Testimonials

In Their Own Words

FH

Farah Hazwani

Finance Analyst · Kuala Lumpur

The Data Foundations course was the first time I actually understood what was happening when I loaded a CSV — not just that it worked. The tutor's feedback on my exercises was specific enough to be genuinely useful, not just reassuring.

Zulhafiz Azlan

Software Developer · Petaling Jaya

I'd tried a couple of self-paced courses before and found myself stuck when something didn't work. Here, there was someone to ask. The ten-week structure of Machine Learning in Practice felt manageable alongside a full-time job — I didn't feel rushed.

Civil Engineer · Shah Alam

I came in expecting to be overwhelmed — AI courses online tend to assume you're already a programmer. The prerequisite statement on the page was honest: basic Python was enough, and that's exactly where I was. Good match from the start.

Nurul Rina Zamri

Marketing Executive · Johor Bahru

The datasets used in the exercises included some from Malaysian sources, which made the examples feel relevant rather than abstract. I work in consumer data and the skills from Course 1 started appearing in my actual job fairly quickly.

Amirul Syafiq

Data Analyst · Cyberjaya

The capstone project in Deep Learning Projects was challenging — genuinely so. But the check-in sessions helped me see where my thinking was off before I'd spent too long going the wrong direction. The final submission felt like something I could actually show people.

Tan Kah Meng

Operations Manager · Penang

I'm not from a tech background, which made me hesitant. I appreciated that the course page told me clearly what I'd need to know before starting — I didn't feel like I was being sold something that would leave me behind in week two.

Longer Learner Journeys

A few accounts in more detail — the starting point, what the course involved, and what changed afterwards.

SN

Suraya Nabilah

HR Manager turned People Analytics Lead · Kuala Lumpur

Starting Point

Suraya had been working in HR for eight years and wanted to make better use of the employee data her organisation was collecting — turnover patterns, satisfaction scores, absenteeism. She had no coding experience and wasn't sure data work was something she could learn.

Courses Taken

She started with Data Foundations for AI and, after completing it, enrolled in Machine Learning in Practice. The pacing across both courses — six then ten weeks — let her study around a demanding job without feeling like she was falling behind.

Outcome

Suraya built a turnover prediction model using her organisation's anonymised data as part of her final project. Her team now uses the outputs in quarterly planning. She moved into a People Analytics Lead role within four months of completing Course 2.

MF

Muhammad Farhan Idris

Junior Python Developer · George Town, Penang

Starting Point

Farhan was a junior developer with about a year of Python experience. He could write scripts and handle basic data structures but hadn't worked with machine learning libraries. He wanted to move from backend development into ML engineering.

Courses Taken

He entered at Machine Learning in Practice, skipping Course 1 after a conversation with the team confirmed his Python and data handling background was sufficient. He then went straight into Deep Learning Projects, completing the full mentored capstone.

Outcome

Farhan's capstone project — a text classification system built on a small local news dataset — became a portfolio piece that contributed to him landing an ML engineer role at a Kuala Lumpur startup. He completed both courses over seven months while working.

CY

Chong Yee Lin

Secondary School Science Teacher · Ipoh

Starting Point

Yee Lin was curious about AI after covering a unit on technology with her students. She had no background in programming or data science but wanted to understand what AI actually involved beyond the headlines — not to change careers, but to be better informed.

Courses Taken

She took Data Foundations for AI over six weeks during a school term, studying mostly on weekends and a couple of evenings per week. The course didn't assume prior coding knowledge, which she found critical. She completed all exercises and the final project.

Outcome

Yee Lin now teaches a short AI literacy unit in her school's science club, drawing on what she learned. She's enrolled in Machine Learning in Practice for the current cohort. She describes Course 1 as "the first thing that actually made me feel like I understood what data work involves."
